Noted for his unparalleled depth, adeptness and agility in imparting knowledge, commentary and humor, he moves and inspires audiences with his unique delivery, vocal projection, prolific writing skills and social consciousness. Speaking with the conviction of a general, the intensity of a middle linebacker and the wisdom of a sage Edwin Wilson of Flint, Michigan is indeed The Future.

Born April 3, 1979 in Flint, Michigan, Ed attended Flint public schools where he was an industrious student and gifted athlete, most notably in football. Graduating from Northern High School and went on to play semi-professional football in the metro Detroit area. Always very creative with words he never tried to develop those skills due to athletic pursuits. By accident, chance or maybe even luck, the power of the pen overtook his direction in life having him to focus on "Future" as a genuine Spoken Word Artist and not a Football Player.

In his very first Slam competition he placed second and missed a tie for first by a mere half point. Continuously developing his craft and the genre by pushing the boundaries artistically and aesthetically, Ed is laying his own path stage after stage. He is a well-traveled artist, having performed in major cities such as Detroit, Miami, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Nashville, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton Ohio, Texas; showcasing his craft in highly coveted venues including The Mecca Night Club in Milwaukee, Zanzibar, Java Head and Urban Energy (Washington, D.C.), Church Hills (Miami), Redd Apple Gallery, Half Past Three and Chameleon Café (Detroit), The Green Mill (Chicago), Kijiji's (Nashville) and Untamed Tongues in Las Vegas Nevada.

In just his fourth year of writing and performing, Future is the 2004 Redemption Poetry Slam Champion - Detroit Region, a nationwide poetry slam contest sponsored by FX Movies, and is a recent showcased artist for the BET Pantene Total You Tour in Detroit and Washington, D.C. He shared the stage during the BET Pantene tour with the talents of poet Nikki Giovanni, hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte, Black Entertainment Television anchor Jacque Reid, Grammy-winner gospel recording artist Yolanda Adams and comedienne Myra J. Future has toured with The Manhattans, and alongside Ray, Goodman & Brown.

In June of 2006 Future was invited to open for soul singing sensation Dwele at the famed Southern Theater in Columbus Ohio where he shared the stage with fellow artist Eric Roberson, Rashad and Middlechild. In September 2006 he performed at the New Hazlet Theater in Pittsburgh PA with the likes of Donnie and Amel Larrieux. Future performed with Saul Williams at Wright State University and has been a performer on the nationwide television show called Spoken, which has been airing since November of 2004 on the Black Family Channel. In December of 2005 Future made his TV acting debut playing the role of Q in a made for B.E.T. film called "Multitude of Mercies," where he performed alongside Malcolm Jamal Warner. Future has also shared the stage with performers such as Silk, Case, Chico DeBarge, Rome, Mighty Sparrow, Lady Calypso, Taalam Acey, Jessica Care Moore-Poole, Sonia Sanchez, Omar Tyree, Sonya Renee, Will "Da Real One" Bell and has recorded with Abiodune of the legendary Last Poets!

The University of Michigan graduate and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc member is active in the Flint/Genesee County community where he devotes his time, energy and talent. Birthing one of the biggest stage showcases for Flint talent with his "FLINT UN-PLUGGED" showcase, which was co founded with fellow Flint Town artist Amber Lakes, Future has an impressive collection of accolades, awards and championships including winning the Erotic Poetry Slam at The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor as well as being a member on two collegiate slam teams that won the Michigan Intrastate College Team Slam competition. Future is the 2005 Grand Slam Champion of Flint, Michigan and placed 9th overall in the 2005 IWPS (Individual World Poetry Slam). He is the 2005 Big Bang Poetry Slam competition winner, the 2005 Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship Slam winner and the 2006 Grand Slam Champion of Flint Michigan. His second album, Future Presents: The 6th Day Phantom Menace has been played on Flint's local radio station 94.3 as well as Detroit's internet radio station badgals-radio.com.

His continuous Tours throughout the Major Cities has drawn recognition and shows not even scheduled. He was recently the Featured Artist in KPTY PARTY 104.9's and The Urban Zones P.O.E.T.S. - People of Encouraging Thoughts in Sharpstown - Spoken Word Showcase. Creating history and being the reason the event was put together, he was the star of Sharpstown Mall's, Houston's Premier Urban Mall, 1st ever Spoken Word Showcase. Only a gifted individual as himself can walk into a building as an everyday person and walk out a star. Future is a powerful force in the Spoken Word movement; indeed, The Future is NOW.
