Born and raised in a time when music meant something. This Shreveport, LA native started pursing his musical career when a local singing group asked Ja-Kori to join. Blessed from birth, the singer/songwriter/producer melted in like everything was meant to be. After spending 1year performing in local clubs, and talent showcases, the Shreveport based group decided to pack it up and move to L.A.

L.A. bound, the group interviewed, performed, and recorded with a few of L.A's finest people and places, and later on signed a record deal with a Chicago independent label. Ja-Kori being the writer in the group learned how to vibe to different types of music such as Jazz, House, Blues, and Alternative Rock.... and man, the young lyric master just got hotter.

However, Ja-Kori decided that the group's music just wasn't reaching its highest peak and was thereafter dismissed. Crushed by the dismissal from the group, he continued on with his solo career. This was only a blessing in disguise.

After leaving Los Angeles, Ja-Kori then moved to Dallas ,TX where God set him on a head on collision with producers Madukwu Chinwah and Therelee Washington and collectively they created a musical relationship with Ja-Kori that having unity and continuity; and a lot of that funky stuff.

Inspired by a few of the greats like: Frankie Beverly, Bob Marley, Ron Isley. Laced with Hip-Hop, Ja-Kori has created a sound that enters the ear and explodes throughout the pores of your souls. Quote: Love, Peace, and Happiness is not dead but is still alive and music should be the voice of the streets and the world to help conquer the woes of destruction and create love amongst all people. Growing up in an Louisiana Culture is so different from the rest of the world. It’s hard in my city, Shreveport/Bossier, Louisiana, the top of the BOOT! It's a Casino city, with all the violence that comes with it, but Music was my outlet. It has taken me to many places where I've learned to feel the rhythm of all music. However I am HIP HOP, as well as R/B Soul! I love the Blues, with a taste of jazz. Situation between the nations everyday are the influences that move my Reggae. For about the people I am concerned as long as I remain, I've watched them cry, I've watched them fall, and most feel as though they're living in vein. Who am I? “JAKORI”, the chosen one! Chosen to elevate your mind, body and soul. With a gospel complete with endless rhythms, leaving you feeling hold. I am the lyrics you read, the vibes you feel, that little noise you here in a song when no one else can. I am every thing that you have endured and experience and more.
