Tichaona Chinyelu is a daughter of Afrika in both the biographical and political sense. Her parents were born and raised in Afrika. Tichaona was born in London but grew up in the States. As a result, she views the world through the prism of Pan-Afrikanism. Tichaona currently lives in Massachusetts with her three year old son. She is the author of two books of poetry: In the Whirlwind and Still Living on my Feet.
Tichaona Munhamo was the name that a Zimbabwean freedom fighter assumed during Zimbabwe's war of liberation and means we'll sort it out on the battlefield. Her actual name is Margaret Dongo and she's a member of the Zimbabwean Parliament (or was).
"In The Whirlwind" by new breakthrough author, Tichaona Chinyelu, is one of the most DYNAMIC, THOUGHT- PROVOKING and POWERFUL poetical creations on the market...
Tichaona speaks with a masterful voice that interweaves deep-rooted African culture, symbolism and traditions with African-American modern day politics, racial issues, history and pride. Her poetical style feminizes urban satire and varied concerns of the world from oppression, war and natural earth catastrophies to the death of John F. Kennedy and outbreak of disease, famine and terrorism.

Her passion is obviously keeping the black race aware and enlightened but Tichaona is also so intensely talented she can take any subject matter and take you from wherever you are into the moment. I, for one, will never hear the term "Daily Grind" and see it how I once viewed it. I personally believe this is a book that is as much for the white race as it is for the black race; in fact, it's for all races and both male and female.
